Displaying Student Work

Displaying student work in the classroom and around the school carries great importance. When students see their work in the hallways or the class, a sense of pride arises. Students love seeing their work and are proud to point out which one is theirs. For this reason, I value displaying students’ work as well as including them in the process. Below are some examples of how I displayed students’ work inside and outside of the classroom throughout my field experiences.

Students were preparing for spring by learning about bees and flowers that start to blossom in the springtime. These Grade One students were also getting ready for Earth Day and learning about why bees are important for the environment. These are the art activities for the unit on Bees and Spring.

For Nutrition Month, students made posters of their favourite healthy foods. Their art work was displayed outside in the hallway.
During Nutrition Month, student learned about the food groups and which foods are found in each group. Displayed inside the class are posters that students did as a class for each food group using grocery store flyers. Below is the students’ work describing the ideal balanced meal according to the Canadian Food Guide.
