Grade 6 – Probability Casino

  • For the grade six students, my student teaching partner and I created a probability casino for a Friday afternoon. Students were learning probability, and these different activities allowed them to explore and manipulate probability in different ways. The class was set up in stations. The four stations were the following: bingo, probability trees using dice and poker chips, Skittles probability game, and a game called “more or less.” The students liked it, and we invited the principal to come to see this event.
  • As a follow-up activity to the prism and pyramid lessons found on this website, my partner and I created a Kahoot Quiz for the students. This Kahoot Quiz was done with the students a few days after the initial lesson. Students really enjoyed this activity and asked to do more. Click here to see the full lesson plan.
