During my third field experience, I had the privilege of being part of the program Regulating Emotions & Stress in Pre-Service Teachers (R.E.S.S.T), which was a Pilot Project
being done at McGill University. Studies have shown that many in-service teachers experience extreme amounts of stress and are likely to burn out within the first few years of their careers. The main topics covered in this program were aimed towards teacher resilience and include emotion regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion, self-awareness, and social connectedness. Through this program, I was able to learn a variety of tools and resources to regulate my stress and time management. In addition, many of these tools can be used with students.
