Grade One students were taught sequencing of events in a story using a few different books: Sneezy the Snowman, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and If You Give a Pig a Pancake. In addition, keeping in line with the unit at the time (Nutrition Month), we read a book about how pizza was created. Following the book, the class watched some videos on how pizza is made, and we sang a song about the steps to make a pizza. Students then created their own pizzas. On one side, they cut and glued the sequence of how to create a pizza, and on the other side students decorated their pizzas with their favourite toppings.
